The Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

1st Avenue Club Service
The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.
2nd Avenue Vocational Service
High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society.
3rd Avenue Community Service
The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life.
4th Avenue International Service
The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
5th Avenue Youth Service
The recognition of the need for, and the encouragement of, the involvement of youth in the furtherance of the avenues of service, including Rotaract, Interact, RYLA, and other youth programs.

The object of Rotaract is to provide an opportunity for young men and women to enhance the knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to address the physical and social needs of their communities, and to promote better relations between all people worldwide through a framework of friendship and service based upon the following guidelines:
